BATTLEREIGN is a TPS RPG created in Unreal Engine 4.
The set is in a dystopian and forgotten past having elements of the future that brings it to life with action and a brave sense of adventure.
I worked on the environment for this game within a period of 3 months.
My workflow goes as follows and is not arranged according to how my work was carried out sometimes due to the feedback received from the game designer.
1. I set out by sketching the map of the environment. With a rough sketch done in Clip studio, the idea of the different locations and layout of the environment was put in place.
2. Landscaping the environment in Unreal Engine 4.26 was quickly carried out using the new water and landscape tools via it's plugins and then further sculpting was done to improve the visual quality of the map.
3. Landscape materials: This was easily arranged using Brushify. Yes, I am the only person on this map, please. (>_ Setting my sun to moveable was my first step towards progress, then came the more favorable settings which I found on youtube tutorials. The final game project would have a red hunting sky filled with the look of rage and blood. I did that.
7. Post-process Volume was implemented at major and specific regions of the map to aid the focus of my lightmass settings when baking.
8. Environment effects: effects such as fireflies, birds swirling in the sky, burning spots, falling leaves, dark smoke and water fogs were added.
I am pretty sure I did so much more but these are the most important steps or processes I carried out on this amazing project.
Big thanks to everyone at Vecury Interactive especially Igwe Ugwoke for such amazing teamwork and contribution to the success of this project.
